Le Pouce Mountain Peak -

Poking 812 metres into the Sky Like Hack Horner’s thump, Le Pouce Mountain (Thumb mountain) is the third highest peak of Mauritius and is also home to endemic plants that botany enthusiasts will find nowhere in the world except in the vicinity of the mountain.
It is regarded as a relatively easy hike, apart from its final steep climb to the summit. The beginning of the climb is very shady with dense forest but higher up you’ll get to a more open track with very few trees and beautiful views.
Enjoy an amazing 360 degrees view of the island from the top of the peak, the splendid northern parts, and its islets. You will also get to look down onto the capital.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Moka.

- Depending on how fit you are, it takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach the base of the “thumb and from there about 20 minutes to the summit. While the hike down takes about 1 hour.
